At the time of opening Rich Text Format(RTF) email messages in Outlook 2000 using MS Word as your email editor, you see a WordMail document consisting of blank picture boundary and Edit Picture and Drawing toolbar. But at the same time you may also face an error message similar to this:
The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check your connections and try again.
After this when you click on OK button available in the associated window, the message open in Outlook window not in word. In other case if message plain text or HTML format rather RTF then you receive the following error message on screen:
This form requires Word as your e-mail editor, but Word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor instead.
When the Word Document class ID registry data gets damaged, the operation failed due to network error appears. Another reason can be improper Outlook installation or any kind of problems associated with Ole32.dl file in Outlook.
After following these solutions to fix 'The operation failed due to network or other communication problems' error, opt for Detect and Repair in Outlook in order to complete up the repair process or in other case use inbuilt Inbox Repair tool. But in case if it fails to efficiently carry out the repair process then you must opt for PST Repair tool.
